NFL Insider Reveals Which Team Viewed Jordyn Tyson as 'Second Coming' Ahead of 2026 NFL Draft
It's no secret that the New Orleans Saints were high on Arizona State wideout Jordyn Tyson, given that they selected him No. 8 overall at Thursday's NFL draft.
But just how high they were on him may come as a bit of a surprise.
"Talking to teams picking in the top 10, it was interesting. Several teams had [Ohio State wideout Carnell Tate] as WR1. Several teams had Tyson as WR1," said Dane Brugler of The Athletic during an appearance on the Up & Adams show Tuesday (34:00 mark). "I was talking to one team who said, 'We like Tyson a lot, the Saints thought he was the second coming.' That's how much the Saints loved Tyson throughout the draft."
The second coming of... a deity from above? Or perhaps of a football deity like Jerry Rice?
Whatever the case, the Saints clearly believe Tyson can help an offense that came into the offseason desperately needing new playmakers and now has equipped quarterback Tyler Shough with an exciting young wideout and running back Travis Etienne Jr., alongside additions to the offensive line.
The Saints remain firmly in a rebuild. But if Tyson is as good as the Saints believe he can be, they may not be in one for long.
