Diego Pavia, Ravens Reportedly Agree to Contract After Heisman Trophy Finalist Went Undrafted
It turns out that the Baltimore Ravens didn't need undrafted free agent quarterback Diego Pavia to try out after all.
After inviting Pavia to this weekend's minicamp earlier this week, the Ravens opted to sign him to a three-year contract on Tuesday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Interestingly, the Ravens also agreed to a three-year deal with undrafted UConn quarterback Joe Fagnano on Tuesday, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and veteran backup Tyler Huntley were the only quarterbacks on the roster before Tuesday's deals, so it looks like Baltimore is trying to replenish its depth at the position by adding some youth.

Heisman finalist makes history after going undrafted
Pavia became the first Heisman finalist since Jordan Lynch in 2014 to go undrafted when he didn't hear his name called this past weekend. He finished second in the voting for the Heisman Trophy behind Fernando Mendoza, who was selected No. 1 overall by the Las Vegas Raiders.
At 5'9", Pavia is smaller than a prototypical NFL quarterback, but he's still confident in his chances to be successful in the league.
"Yeah, my size has been doubted my whole life," Pavia told reporters at the Senior Bowl in January. "I feel like the only thing the NFL cares about is can you win, and I view myself as a winner. I've been fortunate with all these great teams that I've had — we've never had a losing season. So that's something to look forward to, I hope, for the rest of my career, that's how it's going to be."
The 24-year-old obviously won't be replacing Jackson anytime soon, but he will be hoping to start his career on the right foot in Baltimore.
