Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Cowboys Reportedly Agree to Contract Amid George Pickens Trade Rumors
The Dallas Cowboys made another addition to their wide receiver room as uncertainty over George Pickens' future persists.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Cowboys signed veteran wideout Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a one-year deal.
Valdes-Scantling, 31, spent the 2025 season between the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers, registering 14 catches for 120 yards and one touchdown. His best season came back in 2020 with the Green Bay Packers, when he set career highs in yards (690) and touchdowns (six).
In other words, he's hardly a replacement for Pickens should that situation grow more contentious after reports on Monday that he hasn't signed his franchise tag. But in terms of depth, Valdes-Scantling will give the team another veteran option to help round out the receivers room.
