Justin Rose Joins McLaren Golf, Will Be 1st PGA TOUR Player to Use F1 Powerhouse's Equipment
Formula 1 Racing juggernaut McLaren unveiled its first partner for its new venture into the sport of golf.
On Monday, Justin Rose was announced as McLaren Golf's first global ambassador, and he will be the first player to use the company's new equipment on the PGA Tour this week during the Cadillac Championship in Miami.
"From the beginning, this has been a passion project," Rose said, per Jonathan Wall of Golf Digest. "I've had the opportunity to be involved from the outset – working with the team, testing the clubs and helping shape what they've become. That level of involvement, combined with the standards McLaren brings to everything they do, made this an easy decision for me. I'm excited to put the clubs in play and watch the brand flourish."

Wall noted that Rose is also now an investor in McLaren Golf. The 45-year-old, who earned his 13th career PGA Tour win at the Farmers Insurance Open in February, reportedly "played a key role in prototype testing, offering feedback that helped shape the impending gear releases."
Last month, McLaren announced that its golf brand will officially launch on April 29 with the release of its first products.
"McLaren Golf is a high-end, engineering-led venture which goes beyond the equipment. We're building a brand grounded in McLaren's high-performance DNA, and embedding it in a new sporting arena," Neil Howie, the CEO of McLaren Golf, said in a statement. "We've hired some of the best minds in engineering and combined them with leading figures from the golf world to create an innovation-led company that pushes the limits of what golfers can expect from their equipment. We can't wait to see our ambition come to life on the course this year."
McLaren is one of the most successful teams in F1 history, with 203 Grand Prix wins. The team won the 2025 Drivers' and Constructors' Championships, so it is certainly hoping that Rose can help usher in a similar level of success on the golf course, starting with this week's tournament in South Beach.
