Kentucky Derby 2026 Odds, Latest Betting Lines and Predictions
The 2026 Triple Crown season kicks off on Saturday at the Kentucky Derby.
Renegade comes into Derby week as the favorite to win at Churchill Downs.
Favorite status, or even low odds to win the Derby, have not guaranteed victory in recent years.
Last year's winner Sovereignty was the only horse in the last four years to win the Derby with odds lower than 10-1 before post time.

Renegade has been in the top class of Derby favorites for quite some time.
The horse trained by Todd Pletcher won the Arkansas Derby, one of the premier build-up events to the Derby, on March 28 to affirm his status as one of the horses to beat.
Renegade finished inside the top three in his last five races dating back to last August. He is a horse that knows how to run at, or near, the front of the pack. He has an incredible team behind him with two-time Derby winner Pletcher as his trainer and two-time Belmont Stakes winner Irad Ortiz Jr. on board as the jockey.
Only Commandment and Further Ado finished with more points in the Road to Kentucky Derby.
Commandment comes into Kentucky on a four-race winning streak. His most notable wins came at the Fountain of Youth Stakes in February and the Florida Derby in March.
Further Ado was victorious at the Blue Grass Stakes at the start of April. He's finished first or second in all of his last four starts.
It seems likely that one of those three horses will win just because of how dominant they've been over the last few months.
The best long shot among the other 17 horses in the field might be So Happy, who is currently listed at 15-1.
So Happy won the Santa Anita Derby on April 4 and owns three wins in hits last four starts.
History is not on the side of So Happy, though, as only two Santa Anita Derby winners went on to win the Kentucky Derby in the last 12 years.
The recent Derby-winning trend hasn't been on the side of the favorites, either, but the top of the 2026 Derby class seems too strong for any out-of-the-blue candidates to cross the finish line in first.
Commandment's been the most consistent horse in the field, and despite Renegade being the favorite, Commandment looks like the thoroughbred to beat.
Predictions
- Commandment
- So Happy
- Renegade
- Further Ado
