Mitch Williams pitched for the Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs, Phillies, Houston Astros, California Angels and Kansas City Royals from 1986 to 1997. While he was an All-Star for Chicago in 1989, his most notable season may have been in 1993 for the Phillies when he helped lead the team to the World Series.
He finished that season, which was his final of three years with Philadelphia, with 43 saves. He also recorded the final out of the National League Championship Series to clinch that spot in the World Series.
Now, his son will look to make his mark on Philadelphia sports after earning an invite from the Eagles.
