Caleb Downs Compared to Dak Prescott By Cowboys' Jerry Jones, 'He's a Pied Piper'
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones believes Caleb Downs could be the team's next franchise staple.
After selecting the Ohio State safety 11th overall in the NFL draft, Jones compared Downs to star quarterback Dak Prescott and praised his leadership abilities.
"He reminds me of Dak. He does," Jones told reporters on Saturday. "He's a pied piper."
Downs was the No. 1 overall player on the final big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department following his tremendous career at Ohio State. He finished his three-year collegiate career with 256 tackles, six interceptions, three forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks.
He's the exact kind of player the Cowboys needed in the draft after their struggles on defense held them back from reaching the playoffs. Whether Downs will help turn things around immediately remains to be seen, but he should be able to make an immediate impact in Dallas.
