2027 NFL Mock Draft Predictions for Next Year's Top Prospects

Alex BallentineApr 25, 2026

What better way to close out the 2026 NFL draft than with a fresh 2027 NFL mock draft?

Yes, it's way too early for this exercise. Even the best mock drafters have a hard time getting more than a handful of the first-round picks right even the day before the draft.

Trying to nail picks down a year in advance is futile. But there's some value in highlighting who the next NFL draft stars could be. The 2027 draft class is already being hyped as a strong quarterback class with star power elsewhere, too.

Using FanDuel's Super Bowl odds and win totals, we can put together a hypothetical order and see how the top stars in next year's class could stack up on draft night.

    Quarterback Chaos

If the 2026 NFL draft class taught us anything, it's that the crop of quarterbacks can change a lot. This time last year, Drew Allar, Cade Klubnik, Garrett Nussmeier and LaNorris Sellers were all getting first-round hype.

Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson ended up being the only quarterbacks selected in the first round. No one is even sure that Simpson's new head coach was even thrilled with that selection.

Don't look now, but the 2027 draft class is actually shaping up to be a significant one.

When B/R's Brent Sobleski did an ultimate mock draft that included all current college football players there were four quarterbacks taken that could be in the 2027 class. Obviously, Arch Manning and Dante Moore are the biggest names, but Ohio State's Julian Sayin, USC's Jayden Maiava and Miami's Darian Mensah join them in this exercise.

That doesn't even include LaNorris Sellers or C.J. Carr. Both prospects could put themselves in the first-round conversation with a strong collegiate campaign this season.

It stands to reason that this year's class could live up to the hype. Prospects like Moore and Manning could have been first-rounders this season, but elected to stay in college. NIL has made it easier for potential draft picks to stay in college longer and it could give the NFL a superclass of quarterbacks after a quiet 2026.

    Jeremiah Smith Leads Non-Quarterbacks

    Ohio State WR Jeremiah Smith

The draft might be hard to predict but it feels like Jeremiah Smith could literally sit out the 2026 college football season and still be the first non-quarterback taken.

The Tennessee Titans took Carnell Tate with the fourth overall pick in the 2026 draft. Jeremiah Smith had 36 more catches and nearly 400 more receiving yards on the same team.

Ohio State has produced some of the best receivers in the league right now and Smith has created more buzz than any of them. At 6'3", 223 pounds he has prototypical size and brings all the athleticism and skills to the table. He's remiscent of Julio Jones.

Smith has been dominant through two seasons at Ohio State and will be tough to unseat as the top non-quarterback in this class.
