Chiefs Pick Mansoor Delane After Trade with Browns, Fans React to Surprising 2026 NFL Draft Deal

The Kansas City Chiefs traded with the Cleveland Browns from No. 9 to No. 6 overall to select LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane.

The team followed it up by drafting defensive tackle Peter Woods with the No. 29 pick. It seems star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is happy with the picks:

Cornerback Mansoor Delane is ranked as the top player at his position and eighth overall, per the B/R NFL Scouting Department.

In addition, B/R gave him a pro comparison to Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Quinyon Mitchell, a First Team All-Pro.

The 2025 All-American had 27 pass breakups and eight interceptions over his career, which began at Virginia Tech in 2022 before he transferred to LSU for his final season.

Now he'll head to Kansas City, which has great expectations for him if the trade up is any indication. He'll be a big centerpiece for this defense as the Chiefs, who won three Super Bowls and made five between 2019-2024, look to rebound after missing the playoffs last year.
