New NFL Trade Rumors on Nico Collins Ahead of 2026 Draft as Texans WR Eyes New Contract
Teams have checked in on Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins, per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, who provided more context.
"Sources: Teams have called the Texans to check on 2x Pro Bowl WR Nico Collins with an understanding in the league that he needs a contract adjustment. It seems highly unlikely Houston would deal him, but teams have checked. Collins will make $20.6M this season when the WR market is double that."
Teams checking in on Collins doesn't mean that the Texans are seriously entertaining the calls or looking to deal him. However, it's clear that NFL teams are poking around and hoping he could be made available.

Collins is playing on a three-year, $72.75 million extension that runs through the 2027 season.
The 27-year-old Collins has played five seasons after Houston selected him in the third round of the 2021 NFL draft out of Michigan.
He broke out in 2023, notching career-highs with 80 receptions for 1,297 yards and eight touchdowns. Collins followed that up with 68 catches for 1,006 yards and seven scores in 12 games in an injury-shortened 2024 due to a hamstring ailment. He added 71 receptions for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns last year.
Collins has been the team's leading receiver each of the past three years. Houston has made the playoffs each season and won 32 games overall.
Obviously, Collins is integral to the Texans' success, and it'll behoove Houston to keep him around long-term.
As it stands now, he's under contract for two more years. Collins' contract is 18th in total value overall among wideouts, per Over the Cap, and it's also 18th in average value per year.
However, he's probably due for a raise. Matt Harmon of Yahoo Sports gave his take on the matter.
Jason Fitzgerald of On the Cap did as well.
In the interim, the Texans are focused on the draft. Houston entered Thursday with eight picks, including two second-rounders and four in the top 69.
