5-Star SG Trinity Jones Makes Commitment Between Maryland, UCLA, More After Clemson Decommitment
Five-star guard Trinity Jones committed to Maryland on Thursday, according to ESPN's Shane Laflin.
Jones is the No. 7 overall player in 247Sports' composite rankings for 2026. With Oliviyah Edwards choosing South Carolina earlier in the day, she was the highest-ranked player still uncommitted.
The Illinois native first signed with Clemson but got released from her letter of intent earlier this month.

Brandon Clay, 247Sports' director of scouting for women's basketball, called Jones "one of the premier guards in America."
"She has the skill and athleticism to create off the dribble and can also push the tempo on offense, attacking the paint to score," he said. "Her length allows coaches to potentially use her at any of the three guard or wing positions, depending on the matchup."
Jones attends the same high school, Naperville Central, as WNBA legend Candace Parker. She averaged 28.5 points and 8.2 rebounds as a senior.
Maryland coach Brenda Frese now has three prep standouts heading to College Park for the 2026-27 season. Jones joins 5-star small forward Jordyn Jackson and 4-star power forward Mimi Thiero. Former Stanford forward Nunu Agara is arriving through the transfer portal as well.
The Terps have been an NCAA tournament mainstay during Frese's tenure, but more than a decade has passed since their last trip to the Final Four. Now, they may have the nucleus of a squad that can reach the national semifinals over the next few years.
