New Ty Simpson Rumors Emerge on NFL Draft Day amid Links to Cardinals, Browns, Jets, More
Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson remains the prospect with the most polarizing projections heading into Thursday's NFL draft.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that teams around the NFL are "skeptical" about Simpson being a first-round selection, but "that's not based on ability." Fowler explained that some feel that the Arizona Cardinals could land him with the No. 34 pick at the top of the second round, but he added that it's "hardly a guarantee" after teams like the Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Pittsburgh Steelers and Miami Dolphins have all "done homework" on Simpson over the past few months.

NFL coach calls CFB transfer players 'clowns'
B/R's NFL Scouting Department ranks Simpson as the No. 2 quarterback in this year's draft class. In its final mock draft, he's projected to land with the Cardinals at No. 34 overall in the second round.
Simpson is well aware of the contrasting predictions about his landing spot in the draft, but he's not worried about them. During an appearance on Up & Adams, he was asked about potentially sliding to Day 2 of the draft, and he said he's confident that he'll be a first-round pick.
"If it does happen, it was meant to happen, it was God's plan," he said. "But I came here thinking that I would get called on Thursday night, I firmly believe that. It's going to be positive vibes and positive vibes only."
It will be exciting to see where Simpson and the rest of this year's prospects land when the NFL draft officially begins on Thursday night.
