The news comes after manager Carlos Mendoza revealed Lindor would get an MRI on Thursday.

Lindor was pulled from the game after he appeared to grimace while rounding the bases in the fourth inning.

The injury occurred on the same day that star outfielder Juan Soto returned to the Mets' lineup, as he had been sidelined since April 3 after suffering a right calf strain.

New York also entered Wednesday's action looking to end a 12-game losing streak, representing the longest streak for the club since 2002.

The Mets replaced Lindor in their lineup on Wednesday with third baseman Brett Baty, while Bo Bichette shifted from third to shortstop.

Lindor was 2-for-2 with an RBI single prior to his exit against Minnesota. The Mets snapped their losing streak with a 3-2 win, improving their record to 8-16.

The five-time All-Star hasn't started his 2026 campaign on a high note, as he's hitting just .226 with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI through 24 games.

It's worth noting that he's started to improve at the plate as of late, recording seven hits in his last 17 at-bats.

Lindor hasn't experienced many issues with availability in recent years, missing just 15 combined games over his past four seasons in New York.
