Jets, Rams Trade for Star WRs in Top 10 in New NFL Mock Draft 2026 from Top Beat Reporters
The Los Angeles Rams and New York Jets are projected to trade up to target wide receivers early in the 2026 NFL draft by The Athletic's Nate Atkins and Zack Rosenblatt.
Atkins predicted for The Athletic's latest 2026 NFL mock draft the Rams would acquire the Cleveland Browns' No. 6 pick by trading their No. 13 and No. 61 picks in addition to a 2027 fifth-round selection.
The Rams would then draft Carnell Tate out of Ohio State at No. 6, Atkins predicted.

"Tate is the one option in this draft who projects as a future No. 1 without injury concerns. And that matters if the Rams are unsure about paying Puka Nacua," Atkins noted.
Two picks later, Rosenblatt projected the New York Jets would move up to No. 8 by sending the Nos. 16, 44 and 140 picks to the New Orleans Saints.
The Jets would then draft former Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson at No. 8, according to Rosenblatt.
"This was a perfect spot to grab Tyson ahead of the Chiefs, Giants and Dolphins, who all might be targeting a wideout," Rosenblatt reported. "Tyson feels like a perfect complement to Garrett Wilson as a big-bodied, athletic outside receiver who should step in right away as the No. 2 on the depth chart."
Tyson is ranked as the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 1 wide receiver on the final Bleacher Report 2026 NFL draft big board. Tate is ranked just behind at No. 10 and No. 2, respectively.
B/R NFL scout Damian Parson described Tyson as "a twitchy, dynamic playmaker with the route-running traits to be an impact starter and matchup receiver," although he noted NFL teams might be concerned by his injury history including a serious knee injury in 2022 and hamstring issues in 2025.
Parson reported that Tate is "a route-running technician and specializes in manipulating defensive backs" who "has soft, reliable hands and excellent ball tracking skills."
The Rams are currently heading into the 2026 season with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams at the top of their depth chart despite exploring trade possibilities for Adams earlier this offseason.
Neither Nacua nor Adams are signed past 2026, and Nacua's extension could have gotten more expensive now that the Seattle Seahawks' Jaxson Smith-Njigba has reset the wide receiver market with a four-year, $168.6 million extension.
Nacua has been in attendance at Rams offseason activities. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported in March he expected contract talks with Nacua not to take place until later this summer.
The Jets could be looking for a long-term WR2 option after signing Wilson to his own four-year extension last summer.
The 2026 NFL draft is set to kick off in Pittsburgh on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. Teams will have just eight minutes to deliberate over trades or picks between first-round selections, as opposed to 10 minutes between picks last year.
