Magglio Ordonez went three for three with four runs, a double, two HRs, six RBI, and a walk. Evan Longoria hit a pair of HRs and drove in six runs. Robinson Cano went four for four with a run, three doubles, and an RBI. B.J. Upton went four for four with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Placido Polanco went four for five with four runs, a double, and an RBI.

Jason Bay went four for six with two runs, a HR, three RBI, and a SB. Jose Lopez, Jason Giambi (three RBI), Ramon Castro, Nick Evans (three doubles), Carlos Pena (three RBI), Brandon Phillips, and Juan Pierre each had three hits. Bobby Abreu and Joey Votto each had four RBI. Carlos Beltran, Ryan Howard, Carlos Lee, and Ben Francisco each had three RBI. Hideki Matsui, Ramon Santiago, and Carl Crawford each scored three runs. Brad Wilkerson hit a grand slam.

Jesse Litsch pitched a complete-game shutout to improve to 6-1 with a 3.57 ERA. Justin Duchscherer gave up just one hit in eight scoreless innings to improve to 4-3 with a 2.16 ERA. He beat Josh Beckett, who allowed two runs in seven innings with 9 Ks. Jered Weaver pitched eight scoreless innings allowing just three hits with six Ks to improve to 4-5. Randy Johnson gave up one run on five hits in six innings with 10 Ks for a no-decision. If he wants to get to win No. 300 they can’t let him down like that.

Claudio Vargas gave up two runs on four hits in seven innings for his first win of the year. Cliff Lee gave up two runs in six-and-two-thirds innings with eight Ks to improve to 7-1 with a 1.50 ERA. Brian Mohler gave up two earned runs in six innings to improve to 2-1. Bronson Arroyo went six-and-one-third innings, giving up two runs and striking out nine to improve to 3-4. Kyle Lohse tossed six scoreless innings to improve to 4-2.
