Yankees Unveil Max Fried 'Mandalorian' Bobblehead Giveaway for Star Wars Day in Photos
Even though Star Ways day is May 4, the New York Yankees are getting an early start on the celebration with a special Max Fried bobblehead giveaway.
The Yankees unveiled the Mandalorian-themed Fried bobblehead that will be available to the first 18,000 fans who attend their May 2 game against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Yankees have a home game on May 4, which is the formal celebration of Star Wars day, but it's also probably easier to draw in a big crowd for a promotion on a Saturday than a Monday at a time when schools are still in session.
Fried has been a Mandalorian-esque protector for the Yankees pitching staff since he arrived prior to the start of last season. He led the rotation in 2025, finishing fourth in AL Cy Young voting after Gerrit Cole went down in spring training with an elbow injury that required Tommy John surgery.
So far in 2026, the three-time All-Star has picked up right where he left off. He has a 2.97 ERA and is tied for the AL lead with 33.1 innings pitched.
