WWE WrestleMania 42 Results and Matches That Left the Best Impression
WWE WrestleMania 42 was a show of two halves, with the first night failing tremendously to impress and enthuse fans and the second going down as one of the best individual nights in the show's long history.
Along the way, there were three matches in particular that impressed fans and sent them home happy.
In celebration of the end of WrestleMania Weekend, these are those matches, as well as results from the entire two-night extravaganza.

Ladder Match for the Intercontinental Title
2 of 4
One of the final additions to the card saw Penta defend his Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio, Dragon Lee, Je'Von Evans, JD McDonagh, and Rusev.
Based on the talent involved, one would assume it would be a great match and it did not disappoint.
High-flying, jaw-dropping spots and a layout that allowed everyone to shine helped this one excel. Had it not been for Sunday's main event, this easily would have been the contest of the weekend, thanks in large part to the willingness of the competitors to take risks.
Penta retained his title, delivering a Mexican Destroyer from out of nowhere to down The Young OG before making the climb and grabbing the gold.
This was a perfect example of taking a handful of excellent wrestlers, putting them into a match, and letting them tear the house down without overbooking or overthinking it.
Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill
3 of 4
There was plenty of questions surrounding Jade Cargill's ability to perform up to the level of her WrestleMania opponent, who is fresh off a slew of bangers in a row at the Show of Shows.
With tremendous pressure on her to silence her doubters, she did just that, entering as the champions and hanging with one of the standard bearers in the women's division.
Even in defeat, she delivered what was arguably the most important performance of her career when she needed it best, strengthening the WrestleMania card and momentarily shutting down the haters at the same time.
Ripley was her typically excellent self, showing up and showing out on the grand stage, reaffirming her position as Ms. WrestleMania in this era of WWE.
CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns
4 of 4
After a horrendously booked first night's main event, the overall quality of the 2026 show was left up to CM Punk and Roman Reigns. All they proceeded to do was have one of the greatest main events in WrestleMania history.
Punk and Reigns went to battle for just north of 33 minutes, taking fans on a dramatic, roller-coaster ride that included Punk dominating for a stretch, Reigns fighting back, and a finish that told the story of a grizzled veteran giving everything he had to defeat the OTC and it not being enough.
Reigns won the match and title, but he more survived the match than anything, opening up the potential for another showdown between them down the line.
