NFL Coach Reveals 'Best Pure Runner' in NFL Draft and It's Not Jeremiyah Love
Jeremiyah Love is getting a lot of buzz as a potential top-five pick ahead of this year's NFL draft, but his teammate is worth keeping an eye on as well.
"Jadarian Price is the best pure runner in the draft, but Love is the best pure player in the draft," a coach told ESPN's Adam Schefter regarding the pair of Notre Dame running backs in the draft this week.
Most evaluators consider Love the better all-around player (and one of the top players, period, in this draft class).
"He's pretty special," an NFL scout told The Athletic's Bruce Feldman. "Ashton Jeanty was a really good back. Has good vision and balance, but (Love) has a different gear. When he makes someone miss in space, he can really turn it on and make home run plays. He's more in the Bijan Robinson category than Jeanty."
"I think he's the best offensive player in this draft," another scout added. "I love him."
Love is ranked the No. 2 player overall on the final B/R NFL Scouting Department big board, while Price comes in at No. 32, so there's still expected to be some distance from where the two players are selected. But as Schefter noted, they could become the first teammates to ever be the first two running backs selected at a draft (they are the two highest-rated players at the position on B/R's big board).
Whether Price makes it into the first round remains to be seen. But he won't last long on Friday if he drops into the second round.
