Jalen Hurts Drops Cryptic Photo amid New A.J. Brown-Eagles Trade Rumors
Amid the ongoing trade speculation surrounding Philadelphia Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown, star quarterback Jalen Hurts caused a stir on social media.
After ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Monday that the Eagles trading Brown "is still on the table and still tracking to happen on or after June 1," Hurts posted a cryptic photo that undoubtedly raised some eyebrows:

It's not clear what message Hurts is trying to send with that photo, but his timing is obviously questionable.
Schefter reported that the New England Patriots are viewed as the most likely suitor for Brown, who has a pre-existing relationship with head coach Mike Vrabel from their time together with the Tennessee Titans. Waiting until after June 1 to trade Brown would allow the Eagles to split his $40 million dead money charge between the 2026 and 2027 seasons rather than incurring the whole thing in one year.
"All the elements remain in place to make it happen, and Brown to the Patriots is still the likely outcome … just not during this week's draft, per sources," Shefter stated. "Put the trade on hold just for now, but things will soon quickly warm back up. The Eagles remain open to trading Brown, the Patriots remain highly interested in acquiring the star receiver, and conversations are expected to resume shortly on or before June 1, probably culminating in a deal, per league sources."
Hurts and Brown's relationship has been under a microscope over the past few years. Despite winning a Super Bowl title together during the 2024 season, Brown vocalized his frustrations throughout last year. Earlier this month, Hurts was the subject of a scathing report that detailed the deterioration of his friendship with Brown.
"Brown and Hurts were once considered best friends, but veteran defensive end Brandon Graham suggested in the latter stages of the '24 season that the relationship had frayed," ESPN's Tim McManus and Jeremy Fowler wrote. "Though both Hurts and Brown downplayed it, a team source said word began circulating within the organization around that time that things 'weren't good' between the two."
The mystery behind Hurts' cryptic post will eventually be solved, as all signs point to Brown being shipped away from Philadelphia this offseason.
