The Rock vs. Roman Reigns and Dream Matches We Need to See After WWE WrestleMania 42
Roman Reigns' victory over CM Punk in the main event of WrestleMania Sunday not only earned him the World Heavyweight Championship, but it also reignited the desire to see him and The Rock square off in the iconic dream match they have yet to have.
It is the biggest, most obvious dream match that we need to see after this year's Showcase of the Immortals, but it is far from the only.
Roman Reigns vs. The Rock
1 of 3
It is the one dream match that WWE still has not managed to get in the ring, a showdown between generational talent in the same family. The Rock vs. Roman Reigns nearly happened in 2024 but did not amid the unwavering popularity of Cody Rhodes.
Since then, Rock has popped up on television here and there, but has not returned long enough to set up the match that the wrestling world so desperately wants to see.
With the Tribal Chief back on top of the wrestling world, this could be the one time everyone involved has to make it finally happen. Otherwise, the OTC vs. The Great One is a one-on-one, marquee match-up that just may never happen.
Oba Femi vs. Roman Reigns
2 of 3
After Sunday's WrestleMania broadcast concluded, Oba Femi appeared on the WWE post-game show and laid down the challenge for a match with new world heavyweight champion Reigns.
Later, in the same post-game, The OTC responded to Femi.
While nothing is set in stone or necessarily even close, a marquee match-up between the biggest star in the industry and the young breakout star fresh off a whirlwind last month is a must-see showdown for WWE fans.
Could Femi do the same to Reigns that he did to Lesnar? Would the threat of a new Ruler motivate Reigns and push him past the former NXT star?
It is a match that still feels a ways off, but based strictly on Reigns' level of star and Femi's potential to get there, a showdown is inevitable.
Rhea Ripley vs. Bianca Belair
3 of 3
After Bianca Belair's pregnancy announcement Saturday night, it will be a while before we see The EST in a squared circle again. Yet, despite that, there is still a need to see her and Rhea Ripley mix it up on the grand stage to determine who is the superior competitor.
We have seen them battle before, including last year's Triple Threat Match, also involving Iyo Sky, but never one-on-one when it mattered most.
The definitive competitors of this generation of women's wrestling, following in the footsteps of the Four Horsewomen, that contest would feed entire families and serve as a legitimate contender for WrestleMania main event.
Belair has bigger things to attend to with motherhood on the horizon, but one more match with Ripley is a must.
