New NFL Draft Rumors on Jordyn Tyson's Workout, GMs in Attendance Amid Landing Spot Buzz

Mike ChiariApr 17, 2026

Wide receiver Jordyn Tyson reportedly impressed during his pre-draft workout on Friday.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that representatives from 18 teams were expected to attend the workout, and ESPN's Pete Thamel added that a source who was at the workout told him, "He showed the twitch, explosiveness and leaping ability we all saw in the fall. He showed he's healthy and still explosive, which is all he needed to do."

Per Thamel, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen and Miami Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan were among those in attendance Friday.

Since Tyson did not participate in workouts at the NFL Scouting Combine due to a hamstring injury, Friday represented the only opportunity for teams to see him do on-field work during the pre-draft process.

After one season at Colorado, Tyson transferred to Arizona State, and he enjoyed a breakout campaign in 2024, recording 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Tyson missed some time due to injury last season, though, and saw his numbers dip to 61 catches for 711 yards and eight touchdowns in nine games.

Still, Tyson was viewed as a strong contender to be a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL draft, and he may have solidified his case Friday.

Both the Giants and Dolphins could benefit from adding a wideout of Tyson's caliber for different reasons.

While the Giants have a stud receiver in Malik Nabers, he is working his way back from a torn ACL. Tyson could provide insurance, while also serving as a replacement for Wan'Dale Robinson, who signed with the Tennessee Titans in free agency.

As for the Dolphins, they released Tyreek Hill and traded Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos this offseason, so they desperately need a WR1 for quarterback Malik Willis.

The Giants own the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, while the Dolphins are scheduled to pick 11th and 30th.

On its latest big board, the B/R NFL Scouting Department ranked Tyson as the No. 9 overall player and No. 1 wide receiver in this year's class.

In the newest B/R NFL Scouting Department mock draft, Tyson was projected to go 16th overall to the New York Jets.

The first round of the 2026 NFL draft will take place on April 23 in the North Shore area of Pittsburgh.
