Amid A.J. Brown Trade Rumors, Eagles Draft Star WR in New NFL Mock Draft From Chad Reuter

Mike ChiariApr 17, 2026

With star wide receiver A.J. Brown having an uncertain future in Philadelphia, NFL.com draft expert Chad Reuter projected the Eagles to address the position in his latest 2026 NFL mock draft.

Reuter predicted that the Eagles will use the No. 23 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft on Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., making him the fourth wideout off the board in the mock.

Brown has been the subject of trade rumors throughout the offseason, and Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported Thursday that sources told him Brown "may [have] an understanding" that the Eagles will deal him this summer.

The Eagles have seemingly already begun preparing for life after Brown, as they acquired wide receiver Dontayvion Wicks from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for a 2026 fifth-round pick and 2027 sixth-round pick.

Philadelphia also signed Marquise "Hollywood" Brown in free agency, and DeVonta Smith will be back in the fold after reaching the 1,000-yard mark last season for the third time in four years.

Replacing Brown would be easier said than done, though, as he is a three-time Pro Bowler who topped 1,400 yards receiving in each of his first two seasons in Philly.

That production dipped to 1,079 yards in 2024 and 1,003 yards last season as the Eagles focused more on running the ball, but Brown was still a key part of the offense.

In Cooper, the Eagles would be getting a talented receiver who helped lead the Hoosiers to their first national championship last season.

After registering 28 receptions for 594 yards and seven touchdowns in 2024, Cooper exploded for 69 catches for 937 yards and 13 touchdowns last season.

On its latest big board for the 2026 NFL draft, the BR NFL Scouting Department ranked Cooper as the No. 23 overall player and No. 5 wide receiver in the class, putting him firmly in the Eagles' range.
