Watch Jordan Chiles Win NCAA Championship on Floor as UCLA Eliminated in Gymnastics Semifinals

Andrew PetersApr 16, 2026

Jordan Chiles' season came to an end on Thursday as UCLA was eliminated in the semifinals of the NCAA championships.

Still, the star gymnast ended her season as a champion.

Chiles was one of five individual champions crowned on Thursday night, winning the floor routine title after posting a score of 9.9750.

Chiles' night started out a bit rough as she fell on her opening handstand on uneven bars. Chiles, a two-time uneven bars champion, had previously not scored below a 9.8 on uneven bars this season, but the error took her out of contention for an all-around title.

She was able to bounce back with her beam routine, posting a 9.95, which was UCLA's highest score of the night at the time. She then closed out her collegiate gymnastics career with a 9.8875 on vault.

Chiles obviously wanted to end her time with the Bruins by delivering a championship to UCLA, but to say that she had an outstanding collegiate career would be an understatement.

She won national championships in uneven bars twice and floor exercise twice, along with a silver medal in all-around and a team silver medal at last year's national championships.

The 25-year-old also has a pair of Olympic medals, one silver from 2020 and a gold from the 2024 Games.

While it's unclear what's next for Chiles, she left the door open when asked about competing at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

"(The 2028 Olympics) is always going to be in my mind," she said in January.
