Browns GM Responds to Rumors of NFL Draft Trade with Cowboys After Kiper, McShay Mocks
On Wednesday, ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and The Ringer's Todd McShay projected the Cleveland Browns to trade the No. 6 overall pick to the Dallas Cowboys, moving back to No. 12 in the process. In both of those mocks the Cowboys then selected Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles and the Browns took Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor.
One day later, Cleveland general manager Andrew Berry addressed those trade rumors.
"Our mindset, going into the draft with our most valuable asset, isn't about, 'Hey, just trade it away.' It's about maximizing the asset," he told reporters. "And that, at different times, can take different forms. It can be selecting a player, it can be trading it for a veteran, it can be trading down, it can be trading up. And so we will continue to work through all those possibilities up until we get on the clock Thursday night. I'd say we're working through a number of different scenarios at this point."

Re-Drafting Every Team's Worst Draft Pick of the Century 😡
The Browns have ample needs to fill, so accumulating more draft assets would make sense. But with a number of holes on the rosters, the Browns could also stay put and draft the best player available, with the likelihood that it will address a need. Ultimately, it will come down to who is available at No. 6 and what teams are willing to give up to acquire that pick.
There certainly is plenty of buzz about the Cowboys being interested in such a scenario.
