NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for BYU WR Chase Roberts
Chase Roberts is a compact, wide receiver prospect with crisp short-area route running.
Joined BYU as a former 3-star recruit in the 2019 class. He is battle-tested and suffered a hip injury as a freshman, which required surgery. Roberts comes from an athletic family; his father played DB, and his younger brother plays WR at BYU.
Roberts is a two-time team captain and leader for the Cougars. He projects as a practice squad receiver who will need to carve out a role to make the 53-man roster.

Where He Wins
1 of 4
- Good stem usage to influence the corner's hips before the breaking point
- Sudden and strong hands to pluck the ball away from his frame and through contact
- Best utilized as an in-breaking route runner; toughness to work in the MoF
Areas of Improvement
2 of 4
- Adequate top-end speed; unable to pull away from defenders on the vertical plane
- Lacks the foot quickness to create space at LOS versus bump and run coverage
- Perimeter blocking is below-average; misses his target too often
- Limited elusiveness or wiggle to create after the catch
