Jets Reportedly Cancel David Bailey Visit amid NFL Draft Rumors on Potential No. 2 Pick
David Bailey may not be on the New York Jets' draft radar after all.
Connor Hughes of SNY reported Wednesday that the Jets canceled their previously scheduled top-30 visit with the Texas Tech pass-rusher with the draft just more than one week away.
Such a move is all the more notable because New York has the No. 2 overall pick in the first round.

It should be noted this doesn't necessarily rule the Jets out as a potential landing spot for Bailey.
Perhaps they actually plan on drafting him at No. 2 overall and instead want to save their visits for prospects they are less certain about in the final days leading up to the draft. They could always end up visiting with someone they select in the second round.
B/R's NFL Scouting Department projected New York to go with a pass-rusher at No. 2 overall in its latest mock draft, but it wasn't Bailey. Instead, it projected Ohio State's Arvell Reese as the second pick.
According to Hughes and Robert Sanchez, Reese was among the players the Jets met with during their top-30 visits. They also met with Indiana wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., San Diego State cornerback Chris Johnson, North Carolina State pass-rusher Cian Slone and NC State safety Cole Wisniewski.
As for Bailey, he went No. 3 overall to the Arizona Cardinals in the B/R mock and is listed as the seventh-best overall player and best speed-rusher on its big board of prospects.
Bailey was dominant for the Red Raiders this past season as a consensus All-American who notched 52 tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, 14.5 sacks, three passes defended and one fumble recovery.
He was a major reason Texas Tech won the Big 12 and reached the College Football Playoff and figures to be a key part of a team's defensive core at the next level regardless of which club decides to take him.
Perhaps that team will be the Jets anyway despite their decision to cancel their visit.
