New Giants NFL Mock Draft Expert Roundup for 1st-Round Pick
For the first time in years, there is real excitement surrounding the Giants. New head coach John Harbaugh hasn't had many opportunities to pick in the top five during his illustrious career. It will be interesting to see how he builds on a roster filled with young talent, but lacking in several areas.
Ahead of the first round of the draft on April 23, here's a look at what experts are projecting the Giants to do with the No. 5 overall pick:

Selection (No. 5): LB Sonny Styles, Ohio State
The New York Giants likely trade out of this spot if they have their way. But that's not a possibility in this projection and may not be once the event actually begins.
If Big Blue can't move out and need to send in a card, Ohio State's Sonny Styles has the profile to be an All-Pro linebacker for an extended period of time, which makes him a fascinating possibility for the Giants.
"While New York signed Tremaine Edmunds to a three-year, $36 million contract, Micah McFadden is only on a one-year deal," B/R scout Matt Holder said. "By pairing Edmunds and Styles, the Giants will feature one of the NFL's most athletic linebacking corps to complement a strong pass-rush and support a questionable secondary. Plus, the duo could play together for a while since Edmunds is still in his 20s despite being an eight-year veteran."

Summary
Watching Ohio State has to be a top priority for teams picking in the 5 to 10 range. They have three top-tier prospects with enormous potential. Considering how porous the Giants' defense was last season, they will likely choose Styles or Downs as the player to build around on the back end to support an ultra-talented pass-rushing group.
