It took only a matter of minutes for WNBA star Caitlin Clark's Kobe 5 Protro Rookie of the Year shoes to sell out on Wednesday.

According to Trisha Easto of USA Today, the shoes were available on the Nike SNKRS app via a lottery system for only minutes before they sold out.

Sold at a price point of $190 by Nike, the Kobe 5 Protro x Caitlin Clark Rookie of the Year sneakers are metallic silver with university red accents, featuring a red Nike swoosh and late Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant's signature logo:

Clark first wore the shoes in that specific colorway in May 2025, per Nike, in celebration of earning WNBA Rookie of the Year honors in 2024.

After a standout collegiate career at Iowa, Clark was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft to the Indiana Fever.

In addition to winning ROY honors, Clark was named an All-Star during her debut season, and she finished fourth in WNBA MVP voting.

Injuries limited Clark to only 13 games last season, but expectations for her and the Fever are high entering the 2026 campaign, as she seems to be back to full health.

Clark's popularity has already made the Kobe 5 Protro Rookie of the Year shoes a hot-ticket item, but there are expected to be more opportunities for fans and sneaker collectors to purchase them in the future.

Per Easto, it is anticipated that Dick's Sporting Goods and Foot Locker will have the shoes in limited quantities, employing a lottery system similar to the Nike SNKRS app.
