Jets Pick Twice in Top 10 After Trade in Todd McShay's New NFL Mock Draft, Land 'Most Complete' WR
The New York Jets are predicted to trade up and ultimately have two top-seven picks in the latest 2026 NFL mock draft from Todd McShay.
The Jets are currently heading into 2026 draft with nine picks, topped by the No. 2 selection.
McShay predicted the Jets will trade picks No. 16, No. 44 and No. 140 to the Washington Commanders in order to move up to No. 7.

He then projects the Jets to select Texas Tech edge rusher David Bailey at No. 2 before using the No. 7 pick to draft Ohio State wide receiver Carnell Tate.
"The Jets have plenty of draft capital, and they're not interested in sitting back at 16 and watching the top three receivers come off the board," McShay wrote. "In this scenario, they use their second of two Round 2 picks (no. 44) and a fourth-rounder (no. 140) to move up and secure the most complete wide receiver in the class in Tate."
McShay added the Jets could then pair Tate with Garrett Wilson in order to build their offense around a quarterback from the 2027 draft.
Having Tate fall as far as No. 7 would necessitate the Cleveland Browns, a team in need of receiving help, passing on him at No. 6.
McShay's mock features the Dallas Cowboys trading up to draft Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles while the Browns fall back to No. 12.
Tate, who recorded 875 receiving yards nad nine receiving touchdowns in 11 games of his junior season at Ohio State, is listed as the No. 2 wide receiver and No. 11 overall prospect on Bleacher Report's latest 2026 NFL draft big board.
B/R NFL scout Damian Parson describes Tate as a player whose height of 6'2" and armspan of 31 3/4" help make him "a quarterback-friendly target" with "soft, reliable hands and excellent ball tracking skills."
The Jets are heading into the 2026 season with a new quarterback in Geno Smith, who is joining the team on a one-year deal.
Bringing in another top wide receiver could potentially help Smith find more success in his first season with the Jets while allowing the franchise to set up an offensive structure in which a new quarterback could succeed in 2027.
Regardless of what general manager Darren Mougey ultimately decides to do with them, the Jets' two first-round picks will make them a team to watch when the 2026 NFL draft kicks off April 23 in Pittsburgh.
