Todd McShay Drops New NFL Draft Rumors on Prospect Drawing 'Significant Interest' from Browns
The smoke around the Cleveland Browns and Kadyn Proctor continues to rise one week away from the 2026 NFL draft.
In his latest mock draft released on Wednesday, The Ringer's Todd McShay cited the Browns as having "significant interest" in the Alabama offensive tackle in the first round.
McShay projected the Browns to trade down with the Dallas Cowboys from the No. 6 pick to 12 in order to select Proctor.

The Browns have shown interest in multiple offensive tackles projected to be selected in the first round.
ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi noted last week that Cleveland officials hosted Proctor and Utah's Caleb Lomu on top 30 visits recently.
Proctor is the No. 2 offensive tackle in the 2026 class, per B/R's NFL scouting department. There is a significant gap between Spencer Fano at the top (No. 13 overall prospect) and Proctor (No. 37).
One of the reasons that Proctor isn't regarded as a slam-dunk prospect at this point is because of some concerns over his play style.
B/R's Brandon Thorn wrote in the scouting report for Proctor that he has "rare size, natural power and arguably the best physical traits in the class," but his "top-heavy play style and inconsistent technique lead to too many clean losses — especially on true island reps where rushers can force him to open or overextend."
Those are things that can be coached out of Proctor at the next level. The Browns might not even move down to select him, as ESPN's Jordan Reid recently wrote they "really" like him as an option at six.
McShay noted that Proctor at No. 6 overall "would be a reach," but the Browns have the luxury of a second first-round pick at No. 24 to take some risk on a wildly talented player if they believe in his upside.
Proctor, who won't turn 21 until June 4, appeared in 40 games over three seasons at Alabama. He was a consensus All-American selection in 2025.
