Sonny Styles to Commanders, Fans React to B/R's No. 2 LB Going 7th in 2026 NFL Draft
One of the top linebackers in this year's draft class is heading to Washington.
The Commanders drafted Ohio State standout Sonny Styles seventh overall on Thursday following his outstanding four-year career with the Buckeyes.
Fans of the Commanders are looking forward to seeing Styles suit up for them this fall:
Styles was considered to be the No. 6 overall prospect in this year's draft class by Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department. He was the second-best linebacker on B/R's big board, only behind his teammate, Arvell Reese, who was drafted 5th overall.
Across four seasons at Ohio State, Styles collected 245 tackles, nine sacks, nine passes defended, three forced fumbles and an interception. In his final campaign with the Buckeyes, he had 83 tackles, three passes defended, a sack and an interception in 14 games.
Styles was a 5-star prospect coming out of high school and quickly lived up to the hype in Columbus. Now carrying the pressure of being a first-round draft pick, he'll look to thrive at the NFL level as well.
