Jordyn Tyson to Saints, Fans React to B/R's No. 1 WR Going No. 8 in 2026 NFL Draft
The New Orleans Saints selected Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with the No. 8 overall pick in the NFL draft on Thursday.
The move makes history with brother Jaylon Tyson previously being a first-round pick in the NBA draft:
Here's where Tyson falls on the NFL draft board.
The 6'2", 203-pound Tyson starred over the last two years at Arizona State. He caught 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2024 before adding 61 receptions for 711 yards and eight scores in 2025. Tyson put up those numbers despite missing two games in 2024 (collarbone injury) and four in 2025 (hamstring issues).
The two-time first-team All-Big 12 wide receiver ranked first among wide receivers and ninth overall on the B/R NFL Scouting Department big board. He received a grade of 8.2 out of 10, placing him on the 8.0-8.4 portion of the grading scale (8.0-8.4: Year 1 Starter / Late 1st-2nd Round).
B/R NFL scout Damian Parson provided a pro comparison in his scouting report to former NFL wide receiver Amari Cooper, a five-time Pro Bowler who played from 2015-2024.
Here's a look at reaction from fans and analysts following the move.
ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham also shouted out Tyson and offensive tackle Max Iheanachor, who went 21st overall to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tyson and fellow Saints wideout Chris Olave can perform a potentially dominant one-two punch. Tyson sees the possibility.
Tyson certainly has a lot of potential to be a game-breaking star receiver. New Orleans hopes that's the case.
