Cowboys Trade Both 1sts for Sonny Styles in New Dane Brugler, Mina Kimes 'War Room' NFL Mock Draft
The Dallas Cowboys could make a drastic move to land the defensive player of their dreams in the 2026 NFL draft.
During this week's episode of The Mina Kimes Show (10:50 mark), ESPN's Mina Kimes and The Athletic's Dane Brugler predicted in their "War Room Mock Draft 3.0" that the Cowboys would trade the 12th and 20th picks in the first round to the Tennessee Titans to acquire their No. 4 pick, which would be used to land Ohio State star linebacker Sonny Styles, and an additional third-round selection.
"I think it makes a ton of sense if you're the Cowboys," Brugler said. "I don't think there's someone on the roster right now that they feel great about wearing the green dot. You think about the Christian Parker defense and wanting to have a hybrid nature to it, Sonny Styles can give you a lot of different things."

Kimes explained that before the pre-draft process, she expected the Cowboys to be able to select Styles with the No. 12 pick. However, his performance at the NFL Scouting Combine elevated his stock significantly. B/R's NFL Scouting Department predicted in its mock draft that the Washington Commanders would select Styles seventh overall.
Still, Kimes added that Styles is exactly the type of player that the Cowboys should be aggressively shasing in this year's draft.
"It was such a perfect fit, he's literally everything they need on D, everything they've been missing, in my opinion," she said.
