Jaren Kanak NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Tennessee Titans TE/FB

Daniel HarmsApr 16, 2026

The Tennessee Titans selected Oklahoma TE/FB Jaren Kanak with the No. 225 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Jaren Kanak showcases a natural feel for catching the football as a first-time tight end. He's played quarterback, linebacker, and now tight end from high school through college and is determined to make an NFL roster.

A former 4-star recruit, he made the switch to tight end for his senior season at Oklahoma and quickly earned the trust of quarterback John Mateer, finishing third on the team with 533 yards on 44 receptions.

Dan has covered the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL Draft since 2019 while contributing for RGR Football. Most recently, he spent the 2025 draft cycle at The Draft Network and is entering his first season in our scouting department.

Where He Wins

2 of 5
Oklahoma v Temple

— Kanak is a natural, reactive catcher of the football with great concentration and hand usage.

— He's a good athlete and has a knack for exploiting space and grinding out tough yards after the catch.

— Brings alignment versatility to the offensive room with experience as a special teams contributor.

Areas of Improvement

3 of 5
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: SEP 06 Michigan at Oklahoma

— Kanak has a tweener body type with shorter arms that limit his catch radius and impact as a blocker.

— Still learning how to block, the former Sooner has a long way to go with learning technique and hand placement to compete as a blocker.

— He's a limited route runner who wastes movement and needs to learn the nuances of creating separation.

—Struggles against physical, man coverage, and doesn't have the tools to get free from it.
