Roman Reigns Addresses Retirement, Says WWE 'No True Competition' Ahead of WrestleMania vs. CM Punk

Doric SamApr 13, 2026

Roman Reigns is already one of the greatest WWE Superstars of his generation, but he's not ready to call it a career just yet.

While speaking to YouTuber Nico Leonard, Reigns was asked about the prospect of retirement, and he declared that he still has a lot left to give to the pro wrestling business.

"I feel like I still have more," Reigns said (h/t H. Jenkins of Ringside News). "I'm very happy with what I've done over the past few years and I could hang my hat on that, but I know I still have more to offer."

Reigns is set to face World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk in the main event of the two-night WrestleMania 42 this weekend. This will mark the 11th time that he's in the main event of WrestleMania, extending his all-time record.

Reigns also addressed the notion that WWE is facing increased competition from other promotions that have continued to grow over the past few years. In his eyes, there's no comparison to being a WWE Superstar.

"There's no true competition for us," Reigns said (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News). "There's other, you know, promotions, there's other places to work in wrestling, but if you want to be in the top show, if you want to be considered at the very tippy top of the mountain, you have to be in WWE."
