Georgia Football: Bold Predictions for 2015 Fall Camp

Brian JonesAug 6, 2015

The Georgia Bulldogs have started fall camp, and the intensity level has been hot and heavy this first week.

One of the things that has stood out is the quarterback battle as all three quarterbacks will get to work with the first team this week according to Seth Emerson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Also, the wide receiver spots looked set with two speedsters being able to help stretch the field, which was something the Bulldogs were not able to do last season.

But there are still a few weeks left before the Bulldogs kick off the season against Louisiana-Monroe. And because of that, there will a lot of twists and turns along the way.

So here are some bold predictions for the Bulldogs as they continue to work in fall camp.

Brice Ramsey Will Emerge as the No. 1 Quarterback

1 of 3

I’ve said this from the beginning: Greyson Lambert will jump ahead of Brice Ramsey and Faton Bauta at quarterback.

Lambert has the most experience of the three, and he has the best look when it comes to the quarterback Georgia wants to have on offense. He has the size, arm strength and the work ethic to take his game to the next level.

That said, Ramsey and Bauta will not be far behind him. Both have different qualities they bring to the offense and will get plenty of looks at starting quarterback this season. However, with Georgia already replacing Hutson Mason, its starter for 2014, there’s a chance coach Mark Richt wants someone who has been on the battlefield for more than just mop-up duty.

Terry Godwin Will Start at Receiver

2 of 3

Malcolm Mitchell and Isaiah McKenzie have the two receiver spots locked down for the most part. But the No. 3 receiver position is just as important as the other two because whoever is there will be utilized a great deal.

And based on Brice Ramsey's praise of Terry Godwin, via 247Sports’ Jake Rowe, Godwin could very well be the No. 3 receiver when the season begins.

Godwin is quick, has great hands and runs routes with no issues. With the Bulldogs wanting to get the passing game going more than they did last season, it’s essential that the quarterback has receivers he can rely on. And with the combination of Mitchell, McKenzie and Godwin, the Bulldogs will be a threat in the passing game.

Leonard Floyd Will Start at Inside Linebacker

3 of 3

We all know the linebackers are some of the best in the country. Jordan Jenkins and Leonard Floyd can both run from sideline to sideline, and they can get after the quarterback. But Lorenzo Carter showed he can hold his own as a true freshman, and that’s why we could see Floyd start at inside linebacker to get all three on the field at the same time. In fact, he was working with the inside linebackers in the first practice of fall camp.

Floyd would take the place of Reggie Carter or Tim Kimbrough, and both are strong players themselves. But when a team has the ability to get all three of their defensive playmakers playing in unison, it’s a beautiful sight.
