Drew Allar's Top Landing Spots After Day 1 of 2026 NFL Draft
With the first round of the 2026 NFL draft now in the rearview mirror, Penn State quarterback Drew Allar is still on the board.
Allar is coming off a senior season with the Nittany Lions in which he only played six games before suffering a broken left ankle. He completed 64.8 percent of his throws for 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns to go along with three interceptions in six appearances.
Allar was listed as the No. 4 quarterback and No. 104 overall player on the April 6 big board from Bleacher Report's NFL Scouting Department.
B/R NFL Scout Dame Parson discussed Allar's potential in his scouting report.
"Drew Allar is a naturally gifted quarterback with a high upside and ceiling," Parson wrote. "There remains a lot of development needed before he can effectively lead an NFL franchise to success."
Here are three potential landing spots for Allar as the draft continues on Friday.
New York Jets

The Jets selected David Bailey with the No. 2 overall pick in the draft and could target a signal-caller such as Allar with their next pick.
New York showed interest in the 22-year-old throughout the pre-draft process, as SNY's Connor Hughes reported that the team hosted him for a private workout on March 22.
While Geno Smith is in line to start for the Jets in 2026 after they acquired him in an offseason trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, he'll be 36 years old by the time next season comes to a close.
Allar could operate in a depth role as a rookie and grow accustomed to the NFL landscape before potentially challenging for New York's starting quarterback spot in 2027.
Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns could look to pick up Allar after selecting Spencer Fano and KC Concepcion in Thursday's first round.
It would give him a chance to play for his hometown team, as the Ohio native confirmed that he grew up rooting for the Browns and owned multiple jerseys of former players.
"I would probably say either Joe Thomas or Charlie Frye were one of the first two jerseys I had," Allar said at the scouting combine, per Dan Labbe of Cleveland.com.
Shedeur Sanders and Deshaun Watson are expected to be the primary candidates for the team's starting quarterback job in 2026, although Browns general manager Andrew Berry has been open to adding a younger signal-caller into the mix.
"Our lean would be if we do add someone to the quarterback room, it would be someone who's a younger player most likely," Berry told reporters on March 29. "But I can't state that definitively because I don't know what the next couple of weeks will hold."
Allar also revealed that he had an informal meeting with Cleveland at the combine.
Pittsburgh Steelers

Allar could find himself on a different AFC North team, as the Pittsburgh Steelers have shown interest in him.
Pittsburgh reportedly held a formal meeting with him at the combine.
ESPN's Brooke Pryor also noted that Allar is the "ideal quarterback prototype" of new Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy.
While Aaron Rodgers is expected to return as Pittsburgh's starting passer in 2026, the team doesn't have many long-term options under center other than 2025 sixth-round pick Will Howard.
With Howard turning 25 years old early next season, the Steelers could bring in Allar and view him as their future answer at quarterback. He'd also have the opportunity to learn from one of the greatest signal-callers in NFL history throughout his rookie year.
