Shane Lowry elevated himself firmly into the green jacket mix with a hole-in-one on the par-three sixth hole in the third round of the 2026 Masters on Saturday.
The ace set off a raucous celebration and brought Lowry to eight-under for the tournament, just four strokes behind leader Rory McIlroy.
According to Justin Ray of The Athletic, Lowry cemented himself in Masters history by becoming the first golfer ever to have two career aces in Masters competition at Augusta National Golf Club.
The 39-year-old Irishman is a one-time major champion, winning the 2019 Open Championship.
His best career finish at the Masters was a tie for third in 2022, and he is among the best active golfers to have never won a green jacket.
