The WNBA's Atlanta Dream announced the re-signing of five players on Saturday, led by 2025 All-Stars Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard and Brionna Jones.
Atlanta also re-signed Jordin Canada and Naz Hillmon, keeping together the core of a team that went a franchise-best 30-14 last season.

The Dream also made a major trade this week, acquiring forward Angel Reese from the Chicago Sky in exchange for first-round draft picks in 2027 and 2028.
With the acquisition of Reese, as well as the five re-signings, the Dream's roster for the 2026 season currently looks like this, per Spotrac:
- Allisha Gray (G)
- Rhyne Howard (G)
- Brionna Jones (C)
- Angel Reese (F)
- Jordin Canada (G)
- Naz Hillmon (F)
- Sika Koné (F)
- Te-Hina Paopao (G)
- Taylor Thierry (F)
- Lorela Cubaj (F)
As part of an official press release from the Dream, general manager Dan Padover commented on the re-signings, saying, "This is a group that believes in Atlanta, believes in each other and is united in the pursuit of a championship. Allisha, Brionna, Jordin, Naz and Rhyne represent the standard we are building here in Atlanta; talented, unselfish and fully committed to winning. Their decision to continue building together, in this city and with each other, speaks to their belief in our vision and culture—one built to win, with great players and even better people."
Last season, the Dream had the best record in the Eastern Conference and the third-best record in the WNBA overall.
Although they were upset by the Indiana Fever in the first round of the playoffs, they took a huge leap forward in 2025 by posting a winning record for the first time since the 2018 campaign.
Gray, 31, was the driving force behind Atlanta's success last season, leading the team with 18.4 points per game to go along with 5.3 rebounds and 3.5 assists en route to her third consecutive All-Star nod, first All-WNBA First Team selection and a fourth-place finish in WNBA MVP voting.
The 25-year-old Howard, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2022 WNBA draft by Atlanta, continued her upward trajectory last season as well with a third straight All-Star selection by virtue of averaging 17.5 points, 4.6 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 three-pointers made per contest.
Jones, 30, was the Dream's dominant interior force last season, averaging 12.8 points and 7.3 rebounds per game in her first season in Atlanta. The 2021 WNBA Most Improved Player and 2022 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year was named an All-Star for the fourth time as well.
The 30-year-old Canadian was an important role player last season in her second year with the Dream. The two-time WNBA champion with the Seattle Storm averaged 11.2 points, 5.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.
Hillmon, 26, was the Dream's top option off the bench last season, starting just 17 of the 44 games she appeared in.
The 2022 second-round pick was named the 2025 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year by virtue of averaging 8.6 points, 6.2 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game.
Atlanta's only significant loss from last year's roster thus far is that of veteran center Brittney Griner.
The 35-year-old Griner is a 10-time All-Star, two-time WNBA Defensive Player of the Year, two-time WNBA scoring champion and one-time WNBA champion, who spent last season with the Dream following an 11-year run as a member of the Phoenix Mercury.
Although Griner put up career-worst numbers last season, she was still an important contributor with averages of 9.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per contest.
The Connecticut Sun announced Saturday that they signed Griner to a one-year deal in free agency.
Reese figures to act as the Dream's primary replacement for Griner, giving Atlanta a complete team capable of vying for the first championship in franchise history.
