The Masters has increased its purse each year from 2022-2026, and its purse and first place prizes are now first among the majors, per Rumsey.
NUCLR GOLF laid out the entire prize money breakdown. Of note, the top four finishers will all be taking home checks of $1,000,000 or more.
McIlroy entered Saturday as the heavy favorite to win the Masters once again after shooting 12-under through two rounds and holding a six-shot lead going into Saturday. He shot a five-under 67 on Thursday before carding a six-under 65 on Friday thanks to making birdies on six of his final seven holes.
The 36-year-old is striving to become the first back-to-back Masters champion since Tiger Woods (2001-2002) and fourth overall (Jack Nicklaus, 1965-1966 and Nick Faldo, 1989-1990).
That distinctive honor would also bring McIlroy $8.7 million total in prize money after he made $4.2 million for finishing first in 2025.
