Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Brandon Pfaadt provided an assist during his start on Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies to help reveal the gender for his brother and sister-in-law's baby.

Pfaadt wore special pink laces with his cleats to let the couple know they are having a girl.

MLB.com's Steve Gilbert noted that Pfaadt's brother, Brett, and sister-in-law, Hannah, were watching the game from their home in Kentucky.

It's becoming more common for athletes to use something from their uniform or field of play to take part in gender reveals.

MLB has compiled an Instagram reel of past reveals, including Houston Astros shortstop Jeremy Peña wearing pink wristbands to assist a gender reveal for his college roommate and Cleveland Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan calling timeout during an at-bat to put on a pink wristband to let teammate David Fry know his wife was pregnant with a girl.
