Latest NFL Draft Rumors on Dolphins' Plans at No. 11 After Changes to Roster in Free Agency

Julia StumbaughApr 10, 2026

The Miami Dolphins could consider targeting an offensive lineman in the first round of the 2026 NFL draft ahead of Austin Jackson's contract year, according to ESPN's Jordan Reid.

Reid wrote Friday that "sources have told me the Dolphins are big fans of Utah lineman Spencer Fano and would take him at No. 11."

"The team loves his versatility, believing he can play any interior spot or be a plug-and-play starter at right tackle," Reid wrote.

Fano previously told teams at the NFL scouting combine he is comfortable playing any of the five offensive line positions, per Panthers.com's Kassidy Hill.

His experience at right tackle could help the Dolphins potentially replace Jackson in the near future.

Reid wrote that the Dolphins have "a lot of question marks" about the durability of Jackson, who played just six games in 2025 and is set to hit free agency next offseason after recently restructuring his contract.

He also noted that the Dolphins are operating under new leadership in general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, assistant general manager Kyle Smith and senior personnel executive Jon Robinson, and that "new front offices have leaned on selecting an offensive lineman to start their tenure."

Fano ranked eighth in FBS with an 84.0 overall grade from Pro Football Focus during his junior season with Utah.

He played at both left and right tackle over three college seasons during which he played 2,204 total snaps while allowing three sacks and 30 quarterback hurries, per PFF.

Fano is rated as the No. 10 overall prospect and top offensive tackle on the latest Bleacher Report big board.

The offensive lineman is currently projected to go to the Minnesota Vikings with the No. 18 pick in the latest B/R mock draft, but he might not get that far should the Dolphins decide to target him when the 2026 NFL draft kicks off April 23 in Pittsburgh.

The Dolphins may need to then make more moves in order to build around left tackle Patrick Paul and center Aaron Brewer, who Sullivan has named as the core of the offensive line heading into the offseason.

The Dolphins could decide to target a guard later in the draft with one of their 10 remaining picks, starting at No. 30 later in the draft's opening round.
