'No F--king Double Bogeys,' Rory McIlroy Reveals Advice from Jack Nicklaus Before 2026 Masters
Rory McIlroy detailed the advice that he received from golf legend Jack Nicklaus prior to the 2026 Masters.
McIlroy explained that Nicklaus told him "No f--king double bogeys" in a Friday interview at Augusta National Golf Club.
"Apparently he thought I made too many last year," he added.
McIlroy is coming off a memorable Masters victory in 2025, although he recorded an even-par 72 in the opening round following a pair of double-bogeys over his final four holes.
He was still able to come back and earn his first green jacket following a playoff matchup with Justin Rose, though.
McIlroy didn't record a double bogey in the first round of the 2026 Masters on Thursday, as he sat tied with Sam Burns atop the leaderboard heading into Friday's action after shooting a 5-under 67.
