The 49ers played their inaugural season in 1946 as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference, which merged with the NFL in 1949.
The patch features the number 80, adorned with a red banner reading "years" and centered around the 49ers logo and the franchise's establishing year.
The logo is available on a variety of merchandise now available at the 49ers' online store.
The Niners also kicked off their 80th anniversary campaign with a video about the franchise's history narrated by Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice.
No. 80 has been retired since 2010 in honor of Rice, who played 16 seasons for the 49ers on his way to setting the NFL's all-time receiving yards record.
The 49ers made it back to the playoffs last season only to be eliminated from the divisional round by the eventual champion Seattle Seahawks.
The Niners will hope to celebrate their anniversary season by going on a deeper run next winter in Brock Purdy's fifth season with the team.
