Raiders' Mark Davis Ripped by Former Staffer, 'He Doesn't Know Anything Football'
Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis received a scathing review from former staff members of the franchise.
The Athletic's Zak Keefer spoke to multiple former Raiders employees who ripped Davis for never adapting or learning what it takes to build a successful football team.
"In a way, he's great to work for because he lets you do your thing," one former employee told Keefer. "But he's nothing like his dad. He doesn't know anything football. 'Oh, my dad liked fast guys? Where are all the fast guys?' … It was all about The Raider Way. That thinking is so archaic. It's not even relevant anymore. They gotta be good football players, too."

Keefer pointed out that Al Davis was a former coach and served as the commissioner of the American Football League before becoming the owner of the Raiders. Meanwhile, Mark Davis was simply handed the team after his father's death in 2011.
Former employees described Davis as "as hands-off as they come," and revealed that he was known for "sleeping in most mornings and never involving himself in personnel decisions." The Raiders have made just two playoff appearances during his tenure, with 11 losing seasons in that span.
"He has no idea what he's doing," one former staffer told Keefer. "He thinks just like a fan."
