WNBA Player Rankings 📊
Fam is projected to go first overall to the Dallas Wings in Bleacher Report's 2026 mock draft. The 19-year-old made a strong impression during last year's Women's EuroBasket, when she had 21 points and nine rebounds in a semifinal win over France.
With the WNBA embracing position-less basketball more than ever, athletic bigs are in vogue. A year after France's Dominique Malonga went second overall to the Seattle Storm, Fam being the first or second would further symbolize the shift.
The Wings could decide to build the long-term foundation of their backcourt rather than focus on the Spain international.
Arike Ogunbowale is a free agent, and the 2025 season didn't provide positive signs as to her fit with No. 1 overall pick Paige Bueckers. Ogunbowale shot just 36.4 percent from the floor, including 30.4 percent from beyond the arc, and averaged a career-low 15.5 points per game.
Miles' skill set makes her a more suitable option alongside Bueckers. She's a natural facilitator who's effective when she's not trying to score for herself. Dallas may view that's more valuable than Fam's long-term upside.
In general, Fam and Miles are the two players who look like true franchise cornerstones. There's certainly value to be found in the rest of the class, but there isn't another star who's a can't-miss talent.
Fudd shot 44.2 percent from three-point range during her final two years at UConn. Whether she'll be able to create her own offense is a big question.
Betts is arriving a time when WNBA teams, like their NBA counterparts, don't appreciate traditional centers like they once did. She'll need to expand her scoring range a bit as well.
Johnson didn't take a major leap from where she was when she won a national championship as a true freshman in 2023. As a senior, she averaged 14.2 points but just 2.5 assists.
There are always players who exceed expectations out of the gate, though.
As high as people were on Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen last year, nobody expected the Washington Mystics rookies to be All-Stars. Te-Hina Paopao fell to the second round and became a solid rotational guard for the Atlanta Dream.
The 2026 draft will be no different as teams will inevitably find some difference-makers aside from Fam and Miles.
