Zay Flowers Discusses Commitment to Ravens, Says He's Not 'Really Paying Attention' to New Contract

Scott PolacekApr 8, 2026

Zay Flowers saw fellow 2023 NFL draftee Jaxon Smith-Njigba become the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history this offseason, but he isn't too worried about his own contract situation with the Baltimore Ravens.

"Congrats to him. He did that one," Flowers said, per Ryan Mink of the team's official website. "I ain't really paying attention to [my contract], if I'm being honest. I go train every day. I let my agents handle that."

Flowers is eligible for a contract extension that is yet to come this offseason.

Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk reported the Ravens will "likely" exercise the fifth-year option on the wide receiver's contract if they cannot agree to a long-term deal prior to May 1. That option would pay Flowers $27.3 million.

"I don't want to go nowhere else," Flowers said while confirming his commitment to the Ravens.

While he may not be the reigning Offensive Player of the Year and a Super Bowl champion like Smith-Njigba, Flowers has been largely excellent for Baltimore.

In three seasons, he has two Pro Bowl appearances to go with 237 receptions for 3,128 yards and 14 touchdowns. He surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in each of the last two years, including when he set a career-high with 1,211 in 2025.

Seeing how JSN has been more productive overall, including when he led the league with 1,793 receiving yards last season, his new deal may not be a complete blueprint for the one Flowers may receive from the Ravens.

But Baltimore surely hopes to keep him on the roster for the foreseeable future as he and quarterback Lamar Jackson continue to develop chemistry. The Boston College product is also just 25 years old and figures to only improve on his production with more experience.

The AFC North team will need to figure out a long-term deal if it wants to make sure that production remains in Baltimore.
