After losing in the NFC Championship Game last season, the Los Angeles Rams are ready to saddle up for another Super Bowl title chase in 2026.

With star quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Matthew Stafford leading the way, the Rams should feel confident navigating their schedule, which was released on Thursday along with the full schedules for the rest of the league. Los Angeles will open the year against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.

Analysis

After placing second in the NFC West with a 12-5 record last season, the Rams will face a mix of tough competition and easy matchups.

Los Angeles has the 13th-hardest schedule in the league based on its opponents' winning percentage from 2025.

Matchups against the Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills, all of whom finished second in their respective divisions, highlight the Rams' non-divisional schedule. Los Angeles will also be facing teams from the AFC West and NFC East this season.

While there could be some easy victories against teams like the New York Giants, Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders along the way, the Rams could have a tough time making it through the NFC West, which produced three playoff teams and the Super Bowl champion last year.

While the Seahawks will undoubtedly present a tough challenge for the Rams, they will also be tested by the NFC West rival San Francisco 49ers, who also split last year's regular-season series 1-1 before becoming the third team in the division to earn a playoff spot.

Elsewhere on the schedule, the game against the Bills creates a matchup between the last two NFL MVPs in Stafford and star quarterback Josh Allen. The Kansas City Chiefs will be hoping to have star quarterback Patrick Mahomes fully recovered from his torn ACL in time for their matchup against the Rams. The Denver Broncos and Philadelphia Eagles are also expected to be in the mix as Super Bowl contenders, giving Los Angeles multiple measuring-stick opponents.
