Paige Bueckers Reveals What She Told Former UConn Teammates After Final Four Loss to South Carolina
Paige Bueckers offered words of encouragement to her former UConn Huskies teammates after they lost 62-48 to South Carolina in the women's college basketball Final Four.
"Yeah, I went to go visit them and just tell them how proud I was of them," she told Skyler Caruso of People. " ... I mean, I've been there. I've come up short and it's pretty disappointing, but just to know how great of a season that they had and a great career that the seniors had, and that you can use it as motivation to come back even better."
Bueckers spent five years at UConn and four years playing (one was a medical redshirt), winning a championship in her final year with the school. Before that, she reached three Final Fours and one championship game with the school, finally getting over the hump in the 2024-25 season, so she has perspective on the disappointment her former teammates are facing.
She's now preparing for her second WNBA season with the Dallas Wings.
