While the positioning of most matches was unknown until Tuesday, there wasn't much mystery when it came to the likely main events of both nights of WrestleMania.
As expected, Cody Rhodes will defend the WWE Championship against Randy Orton in the expected Night 1 main event, leaving CM Punk and Roman Reigns to battle it out for the World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of Night 2.
Those matches are attached to arguably the two most heated feuds in the company currently, making them obvious fits for the main event spotlight.
Orton shockingly turned heel on Rhodes by attacking him several weeks ago on SmackDown. Then, a new wrinkle was added next week, when Pat McAfee aligned himself with Orton in The Viper's quest to win a 15th career world title.
As for Punk and Reigns, they have been at each other's throats ever since Reigns won the Royal Rumble, trading verbal and physical jabs for the past couple of months.
Elsewhere on the WrestleMania 42 card, both women's titles and the women's tag team titles will be on the line with Jade Cargill defending against Rhea Ripley, Stephanie Vaquer defending against Liv Morgan, and the team of Nia Jax and Lash Legend defending against Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, Bayley and Lyra Valkyria, and The Bella Twins.
Arguably the biggest women's match on the card will see AJ Lee face Becky Lynch with the Women's Intercontinental Championship on the line in a rematch of their clash at Elimination Chamber.
Elsewhere on the card, Sami Zayn is putting the United States Championship on the line against Trick Williams, and Penta will defend the Intercontinental Championship in a six-pack ladder match.
Some of the most intriguing bouts on tap for WrestleMania won't even have any championships on the line, as Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar will clash in a battle of behemoths, Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu will meet in an unsanctioned match, Finn Balor will summon his demon character against Dominik Mysterio, and Seth Rollins will be out for revenge on Gunther.
There will even be some celebrity involvement with YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed teaming with Logan Paul and Austin Theory against The Usos and LA Knight.
WrestleMania 42 will be available on the ESPN Unlimited streaming service on April 18 and 19, and the first hour of Night 1 will air on ESPN2.
